KURKURI BHINDI(OKRA)-2

Okra/Lady's finger/Bhindi is a popular health food due to its high fiber, vitamin C and folate content.Okra is also known for being high in antioxidants. Okra is also a good source of calcium and potassium.It is my 2nd post of "KURKURI BHINDI".You can also check my 1st "KURKURI BHINDI IN MICROWAVE" here.





INGREDIENTS:-

Okra(Bhindi)-10
Thick yogurt-2 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste-1 tsp
Kasoori Methi Leaves-1/4 tsp
Roasted Cumin seeds powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/8 tsp
Chili powder-1/8 tsp
Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
Amchur powder(dry mango)-1/4 tsp
Gram flour(Besan)-3 tbsp
Corn flour-2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/4 tsp
Oil-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying


METHOD:-

1-Wash the bhindi(okra) in water properly and Wipe them dry with a paper towel.Cut top and tail of the bhindi then slice vertically into 4 pieces.
2-In a plate mix yogurt,ginger-garlic paste,kasoori methi leaves,roasted cumin seeds powder,turmeric powder,chili powder,garam masala,amchur,cumin seeds,oil and salt,make a thick paste.
3-Marinade the bhindi(okra) pieces in the paste.Sprinkle the gram flour and corn flour on the bhindi.
4-Mix gently until all the bhindi(okra) is well coated with the flour.Keep aside for 25-30 mints.
5-Heat oil in a pan for frying.When the oil is hot add the marinade bhindi(okra) and fry until they turn golden brown and crisp(don't overload the pan,fry in batches).






6-Drain the bhindi(okra) pieces on to a kitchen towel and now serve kurkuri(crispy) bhindi(okra) as a starter or side dish.
